Most people don't like the taste of the powder. I take about a gram a day in pill form, with meals.

Thank you for your website, so full of straight-forward information.
I would like to know about spirulina and what is the best way to take it avoiding contributions to candida overgrowth. Is it taw, cooked...I have the powder form.
I take about 1 teaspoon a day in a glass room-temperature water with some freshly squeezed lemon or orange juice. Is there a better way to take it?

Since I published this article even more evidence has come up. Mercola just published a summary of recent findings that basically repeat everything I put in this article. He cites a recent studied that showed people who developed heart disease also tended to have higher urinary concentrations of BPA. He points out BPA has been banned now in baby bottles in Europe and the US. Its important though to boycott products that still contain plenty of BPA:

Canned foods, Soda cans

Certain tooth sealants

Receipts and Currency !!! (He recommends washing your hands after handling receipts and currency, and avoid handling them particularly if you've just put lotion or have any other greasy substance on your hands)

Its funny how some some sub-cultures are more tuned in to health issues than others... I've been noticing for a while now how the check-out people at Asian super-markets make sure to wear gloves - this is wise considering the BPA levels in receipts (and money!).

Last but not least, here is a list of companies seeking safer packaging.
